On Sunday February 21, 2010 exhibition / intervention / radio open / run by the former Finance San Augustine (km height. 3.6 Néstor Gambeta road - Callao) Behind Jorge Chavez Airport

In 2002 I met the ex-hacienda San Augustine Callao (thanks to my sister, Kristel Best and his colleagues then San Marcos, Elizabeth Lino, Maria Gonzales Alejandro Hernandez-who were doing research on the oral history of St. Augustine) and, from 2008-to the impending relocation St. Augustine's population, due to the expansion of the airport Jorge Chavez started the workshop photography and memory to take off with four children and teenagers and a local population.
Since 2008 we have kept the photographers photographic studio with Susan (19 years, the workshop coordinator), Chelsy, 14, Yaré 12, Alexis 12 and Kelly at 11 years, is to take pictures freely, to record a special event or to view and comment on photos that have already been taken. Over nearly 2 years of work, we have created a large bank of images of the daily San Augustine. In these photographs reveal the stories and memories that are shaping the identity of St. Augustine its streets, houses, alleys, nooks, farms, ditch, trees, fields and the stories they have lived and live. In these tours we also encountered adults who tell their stories to see girls taking pictures, they speak of their concerns about the future eviction, and also have the nostalgia whenever they evoke the past of San Agustin, This look that dreams take place again this year the feast of Patron Saint San Agustín and Santa Rosa and increasingly more beautiful.

The remains of St. Augustine
How do I take what I can not wear?

One of these days I came to St. Augustine the idea of working with photography as a vestige, a remnant of that which is no longer, not only as an image. This idea led to another: the picture is an engraving of light on a given surface (a negative, an electronic device, etc.). Those two ideas joined him, the question: How I take what I can not wear? I made that question to Susan, Chelsy, Yaré, Kelly and Alexis while I explained the idea of photography as an engraving of the light, and they said they could not take their houses, their walls, their facades, windows, doors , its walls, that could not take your chakras, stones and trees.

Then joined the ideas of track and photo light and recorded them I proposed a game the boys' pre photo ": make prints on canvas from the surface of everything that later became vestige of its walls, doors, their surfaces, something that could not be carried. This recording became a big quilt, the quilt of the houses in St. Augustine, who cherishes his memories.
